....They're story is a long one. Filled with early wedding jitters, sneaking out the house in Spanish Town to see each other under the mango trees then going their separate ways and 27 years later, having my sister & I. They call us a blessing. My daddy was a player....he has 8 other kids, my older brothers and sisters. My mom was just all too innocent until she almost eloped in Atlantic City to some investment banker. But, today they're as happy as their 'when I was growing up' years. And I realize that ALL my sister and mine friends have parents that are either divorced or separated. We're the fortunate ones...
I thank God, everyday, for what we are. A family. The McCalla's. The Martin's. & everyone in between. Always adapting. Always working hard. Always being and doing the best we can. Nothing more. Nothing less.
